I’ve finally started a blog!!!

Writing is something I’m passionate about; its all I’ve ever really wanted to do. My favoured genre is horror, however I also love sci-fi and fantasy. Authors such as Anne Rice and Stephen King inspire me the most. I’m currently on an English and Creative Writing course at University in order to improve my skills. I’ve started sending pieces of work to various competitions; one of my poems was recently long-listed for one of these.

Here is where I will be publishing some of my work as well as anything else I get the urge to write about. The aim is to try and publish at least one post per week to keep things up to date and ensure that this page doesn’t feel neglected.

First proper post will be up soon!!!

This is my yayayayay day also as I have tried for two years to get a blog but, well…I, err, popped all the buttons from my musheen thinking I could pop them back in like the big, huge desktop/keyboard and, wow, I was wrong! There are these little circuits I guess that have to be attached which makes for an interesting session as with no space bar I have to locate circuit and pound; it is my nemesis, truly.

I really just wanted to give you the name of the best horror blogger in cyber-space…his name is John Mountain; his blog is Written in Blood and he is a doll; I would follow him ; I do follow him,, the quality of his writing and focus on horror–and I mean only horror, you would like. Just tell him willow sent you, ok?

I have just written a review on Martha Fawcett Vincek’s “The Janaforma Trilogy” which is one of the best science fiction works I have ever read; it almost needs a new genre’ as she weaves threads of poetry, philosophy, dramatic action and characters you bond to immediately into rich tapestry. You can find the review on my page on Facebook or follow her blog also.

I find the you-niverse to be an amazing place where nothing happens by chance. I am an English Literature professor although I no longer teach in the classroom due to my health; ergo you are a Creative Writing student! I created a Poetry Corner focusing on the six critical questions a writer must know and use effectively for a poem to be what Carl Sandburg said was “A shadow asking an echo to dance.”

I am a perpetual student; I suggest Goodreads to you as you can ask for your poem to be critiqued by the community; it is an excellent way to share feedback. A few writers liked my critiques as I am very specific and believe in the power of well-chosen words so I decided to incorporate that into my blog; mainly I want my writing to have a home and to help other writers which, in turn, creates new energy in the entire creative community.

I don’t know what my blog title is by now; I believe I will go back to using my name as it will be easier for friends I know and those I have yet to know!

I need to get my photo up and everything else; I hope I will see your footprints on my site soon!
    Happy Writing,
    willow rose
